Often all Punekars know of the contributions of Pune’s Engineers and Builders to the city are their names, at best mentioned on a bridge or building’s inauguration plate. In this workshop and open house we aim to uncover the stories hidden behind the names.

Who Let’s take a look at the correlation between the Wadarwadi area. the migration and the oldest building workers in Pune:
What difference would it make if you had a women at the construction site in Pune? How has the nature of construction changed in the last three generations?

In this multimedia exhibition construction workers who were active before the 1990s and their descendants are invited to share lived experiences and memories. In our interactions old photographs will be used to record construction workers’ knowhow and views on how the nature of work has changed with time. Documenting these unwritten histories is a first step to increasing the awareness of past and current construction workers’ contributions to the making of Pune.
